Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in TV and film is best known for films like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career as a child. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. The Oscar-nominated film Downfall the role she played as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudljunge was also highly praised. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the actress. Alexandra has been involved in many noteworthy projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. This includes the British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon as well as other miniseries. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
